Heaven on earth is a warm calm day in the garden in May. Living in the North of Scotland, this time of year gives us long hours to work outside and it’s a time of year where – on a nice day – the heart sings. The birds are so noisy, it’s wonderful, whilst you are pulling out the sycamore seedlings. The pond is swarming with tadpoles, whilst you are tidying up the vegetable beds. And red kites circle above, whistling, whilst you sit on a bench, cuppa in hand, contemplating the changes to be made to the garden. Every week is different and exciting – the herbaceous perennials growth rate creates a different looking garden within a few days!
