Come rain or shine

Don’t let the weather get you down! Yes, after some fabulous weather in April (and some awful too) we are now in the rainy season, even though it’s statistically one of the driest months of the year.  BUT it’s been so dry – the garden is jubilating with the moisture.  And wait – once the rain has finished everything will grow even better bigger and greener than before – including the weeds. And I think this is the most important time of the year to get into the garden to weed, get a grip on things now and the rest of the summer shouldn’t be too bad for them if kept on top. But then – what is a weed? To me foxgloves are not a weed, but couch grass and nettles are. But even nettles have a spot in the garden for butterflies to lay their eggs. So if there is the space in the garden to cater for the beasties, then that saves you time weeding and gives them a habitat.

Enjoy May, come rain or shine!
